A podcast about cult hacking! Cracking the cult code to understand what they are, how they work, how people leave and how to make sense of the world after leaving. Father and daughter team, media graduate Celine, and former cult member now organizational psychologist Stephen, explore how cults work, why they are so dangerous and the experience of leaving and making sense of the world. They speak to cult hackers from all over the world, from ex members to academics, from writers to filmmakers, and from therapists to activists. https://pod.link/1540824671 https://www.patreon.com/culthackers https://culthackers.com/ Music is Snap by Purple Planet Music Music: https://www.purple-planet.com

Should we worry about homeschooling?

This is a special podcast documentary episode where we explore homeschooling.
It seems to be increasingly popular, particularly with religious parents so what are the risks? Are there any benefits? We talk to two people, Kezia and Matilda who were educated at home, as well as Kate, a professional educator to get insights from different perspectives on this controversial topic.
Do we change our mind about a subject that has been cropping up quite regularly on the podcast?

Great to hear both sides and reasoning. Found this very interesting. We ended up doing autonomous home ed after we tried the standard curriculum which didn’t work at all! Our son is now 22 and so proud as he basically self-taught. We did the basics then left him to it. Being an only child we wanted him to attend mainstream school even though we wanted to do it right off the bat. He went to school from age 3-8, then had 18 months HE, then we encouraged him to go to school for year 6 so then he could choose if he wanted to go to secondary school. We didn’t do it for religious reasons - it was our way of not conforming to norms (probably as we had been brought up in a cult 🤪).
